Who we are
Fort Miami Women’s Rugby is a Division 2 USA Rugby club team located in South Florida, proudly representing the Florida Rugby Union and USA Rugby South Territory. We have established ourselves as a dominant force in women’s rugby, with a strong track record of success in both the 15’s and 7’s formats.
Our team is made up of players from all areas of South Florida, including Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. We compete in games across the state of Florida, as well as out-of-state, showcasing our talent and determination on a national stage.
Teams Success
Since its inception, the club has made a significant impact, securing 8 Florida State Championships and 3 Southern Regional titles, while also placing among the top teams in the nation four times, demonstrating its dominance on the national stage. We have team members who compete at the professional level or have gone on to play at higher levels, including those who have represented PR Sevens (the professional rugby 7s league in the U.S.) and their home countries on national teams. Additionally, we currently have several active players who are in the USA Rugby South player pool.
Each season, many athletes receive recognition, with several earning honorable mentions and making the Florida Rugby Union High Performance Program team. This consistent recognition underscores the talent and skill within the club, contributing to its ongoing success and solid reputation in the rugby community. The club fosters a culture of continuous growth, with players always seeking higher opportunities in the sport, pushing themselves to reach the next level in their rugby careers.
