Head Coach: Lindsey Koren

Lindsey has been a dedicated leader in rugby both on and off the field since 2011, when she began playing for the University of Florida Women’s Rugby Team. Throughout her playing career, she explored opportunities to coach and help others, including assisting with the UF women’s backline after her graduation in 2016. She played for and captained Florida Rugby Union High Performance Program (FRU HPP) 15s and 7s teams from 2013 to 2016, and assisted coaching FRU HPP 15s during her own injury layoffs to keep involved with the team. During this time, she also earned her Level 200 (now L1) Coaching Certification in 2016, further strengthening her skills as a coach.

As a founding member, captain, and assistant coach of Phoenix Rugby 7s from 2014 to 2019, Lindsey helped build this program while also being selected to the USA Rugby South team upon its revival in 2016. Her tenure with Phoenix Rugby included trips to 7s Nationals in 2016, 2018 (10th place), and 2019 (8th place). She continued her playing career with Fort Miami Women’s Rugby Team from 2018 to 2019 before shifting her focus to coaching.

Lindsey served as Director of Coaching (Boys & Girls) and inaugural Head Coach (Girls) for the Boynton Beach U19 Rugby Program from 2018 to 2021. During this time she coached the Florida Girls U19 All-Star team for select 15s exhibitions and assisted with USAR South Girls U19 Panther 7’s camps held in the south Florida area. Currently, she serves as Head Coach of the Fort Miami Women’s Rugby Team, a position she’s proudly held since 2022.

Assistant Coach: Marie Zeoli

Marie has been an active player and leader in rugby since 2009, when she joined the University of Vermont’s rugby team. During her time at Vermont, she served as the team’s Public Relations Officer and was named Backs Captain in her senior year. After college, she played for Doylestown Rugby Club from 2014 to 2016 before moving to Florida and joining Fort Miami from 2016 to 2020 where she served as Backs Captain from 2018 to 2019. Her representative play includes competing with USA South at Nash Bash in 2019, playing in 7s Nationals in 2018, and traveling to Amsterdam for 7’s in 2017.

Beyond playing, Marie has built a strong career in sports performance coaching. She began at Parisi Speed School in 2012 and became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist in 2014. That same year, she moved to Florida as Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for S3 Sports Academy’s NFL Combine program, working with Olympic medalist Ato Boldon. From 2015 to 2017, she coached at Bommarito Performance Systems, training athletes from youth to professional levels, including NFL and MLB players.

Her transition into rugby coaching began in 2019 after earning her World Rugby Level 1 Coaching Certification. She assisted coaching the boys and girls teams at Boynton Beach High School from 2019 to 2020 before moving on to coach Fort Miami for the 2021 and 2022 seasons. After some time off, she has returned to assist coaching Fort Miami for the 2024/2025 season.
