Fort Miami Opens Season with 33-5 Win Over Jacksonville

Fort Miami Women’s Rugby started the season strong with a 33-5 road victory over Jacksonville Women’s Rugby. Traveling to Jacksonville for the first match of the year, the team put together a well-rounded performance. 

Rookie Essence Bell made an immediate impact in her first game with the team, scoring two tries. Captain Morgan Freeman also added two tries, helping lead the team to victory. Veteran player Morgan Brown contributed one try, adding to the team’s strong offensive performance and securing the win.

Several players stood out for their efforts. Avery Hansen was named Back of the Match for her consistent decision-making and defensive work. Skylar Cypress-Ellison earned Forward of the Match for her strength in the pack, while Morgan Walker was recognized as Rookie of the Match after playing an impressive game

Fort Miami now shifts its focus to their next challenge: a home match against the Tampa Krewe, the defending national champions on February 15th.
